Supporting Employment for Syrian Returnees in Homs

Supporting Employment for Syrian Returnees in Homs

SIBA supported 12 Syrian returnees in accessing employment opportunities in Homs, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the private sector.

As part of the efforts of the Syrian International Business Association – SIBA Jordan to support Syrian returnees and enhance their access to economic opportunities inside Syria, the association worked in cooperation with UNHCR to connect job seekers with employment opportunities available at businesses in Homs. The initiative resulted in supporting 12 individuals in securing employment opportunities after their return to Syria by matching their experience and skills with employers’ needs and available opportunities in the local labor market. This initiative provides a practical model for supporting a more economically stable return through cooperation between international organizations and the private sector, while connecting individuals with real employment opportunities that match their skills and capabilities. SIBA continues to develop these pathways and strengthen connections between Syrian returnees, labor market needs, and businesses operating inside Syria.
